How to Cook:
1. Ingredient Preparation:
- Separate egg yolks and egg whites in separate bowls.
- Beat the egg yolks with sugar until thickened and pale yellow in color.
Add mascarpone to this mixture and mix well until a smooth batter is formed.
- If using Marsala wine and brandy, mix them into the cold espresso.
2. Soak Ladyfingers:
- Quickly soak the ladyfingers in the espresso and alcohol mixture (if using).
Making sure that they are not too damp as they may fall apart.
3. Assemble Layers:
- Arrange the first layer of soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a serving dish or other appropriately sized container.
- Pour half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers layer.
- Arrange the second layer of ladyfingers on top and add the remaining mascarpone mixture on top.
4. Serving:
- Chill the tiramisu in the refrigerator for a few hours or overnight to allow the flavors and textures to infuse.
